Pallant Homes have commissioned Groves Sculpture to provide three English Oak carved hedgehogs for our development at The Oaks Fishbourne. An adult hedgehog and two hoglet’s (infant hedgehog) will be installed within the open space on the scheme. A number of hedgehog houses will also be incorporated in the buffer planted areas to provide a safe shelter for wild hedgehogs. There is growing evidence that suggests we should be worried about the UK’s hedgehog population. A widespread, familiar and much-loved animal is becoming a scarcer sight. The RSPB are actively promoting a campaign to ‘make a home for wildlife’ which Pallant Homes are supporting as part of our Public Art proposal.
